All is right in the Universe. My Universe anyway. The Universe that I created for Pilgrim’s Trail hit a snag as scientists discovered planets in Tau Ceti that were contrary to the ones that I made up. I have adjusted the solar system to fit the discoveries without a major rewrite. Knowing a thing or two about exoplanets I was able to make adjustments to what has been discovered to fit with what I had created. When an exoplanet is discovered and the mass of the body is estimated it is done in a way that includes any moons that the body may have. Therefore is someone was looking at us here on Earth in this manner they would determine the mass of Earth and that calculation would include our Moon as well. Using this knowledge I was able to create some moons to go with the known planets that are surrounding Tau Ceti.

One of the story lines within Pilgrim’s Trail is the presence of sentient anthropomorphic robots within human society. Today while writing on the subject I came across an idea that I think will change our philosophical understanding of what robots may become. Here is that idea expressed in a sentence;

Robots were not feared because human knowledge is the sum of human experience, therefore a robot can not become smarter than humans because the intelligence of a robot is based on human experience. Robots can however find a solution or come to a conclusion faster than humans because they can access more data faster than humans.

I hope that I have been able to convey my meaning so that any fear of a robot dystopia will be allayed.
